A limited-edition black-and-white photobook exploring atmosphere, ambiguity, and mood.
Now live on Kickstarter
A Nervous Symmetry is a limited-edition photobook by Kyun Ngui, with art direction by Brad Feuerhelm and design by Lee Tesche, published by Nearest Truth Editions.
It is the result of a twelve-month mentorship with Brad Feuerhelm (Nearest Truth Editions).
Across the year, the work crystallised into a unified sequence — a world of mood, abstraction, and shifting perception.
Shot mostly in London and predominantly in black and white, the book moves between the concrete and the atmospheric — where the everyday blurs into something dreamlike, sometimes familiar, sometimes disorientating.
Woven into a coherent whole by Brad’s art direction and Lee’s design, the sequence unfolds like a stream of consciousness: moments of clarity dissolve into shadow or glare, then return again to the everyday. It is less about documenting a place than moving through a mood — a quiet rhythm of looking.
